there is power in sensitivity

Sweetfield flowers specializes in lush, organic, and richly layered floral compositions for weddings and events. Sweetfield works with intention at every step, that honors provenance, atmosphere, the perfectly imperfect, and the quiet power of thoughtful details.

McKenzie Lynah is the founder and owner of Sweetfield Flowers, a floral studio rooted in the landscapes and stories of coastal Georgia. A fifth‑generation Savannahian, she draws creative and cultural inspiration from her family and the enduring traditions of the lowcountry. Down the road from where she was born sits a simple cinderblock Southern church, Sweetfield of Eden Baptist Church—a subtle yet prominent landmark that is a reminder of the land she is bound to. Following in her father’s footsteps—with his 1970’s River Street leather shop, Sweetfield Leather—the name Sweetfield honors family heritage and reflects a deep commitment to place, memory, and craft.

At the heart of the studio is McKenzie’s intentional approach—sourcing from local flower farmers and conscientious wholesalers, cultivating a thoughtfully curated studio environment, and approaching every decision, from the first conversation to the final placement, with sensitivity and purpose.

Rather than relying on pre-set recipes or formulas, each arrangement is created in response to the natural movement, character, and beauty of every stem. Events are designed as collections of individual pieces, each with its own distinct personality, rather than as repetitions of a single design.

Guided by the rhythm of the seasons, we pour our hearts into sourcing stems that feel distinct and expressive—each with a singular way of belonging to the moment it’s meant to shape. That same thoughtful energy shapes the atmosphere of our studio and vibrates through every design, extends with intention into the spaces and celebrations we create for our clients.

“In his blue gardens men and girls came and went like moths among the whisperings and the champagne and the stars.”

—F. Scott Fitzgerald, "The Great Gatsby"
